ABOUT THE ROLE We are currently looking to hire a visionary leader with a passion for renewable energy to lead our US Wind & Solar Operations.
As the Manager, US Wind & Solar, you are primarily responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, and business results of TransAlta's in-house and contracted Wind assets; through the application of operating/maintenance standards, procedures, and processes that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
This position exists to develop and implement operations and maintenance strategies within the year and is accountable to provide organizational leadership to TransAlta's Wind asset portfolio through developing, implementing, and managing a 3-year business plan in alignment with the Director's Wind & Solar Business Plan.
This role is based out of one of our US Wind sites and is a full-time salaried, safety-sensitive position preferably in Evanston, Wyoming and/or Okalhama City.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Supporting the daily to twelve-month operations and maintenance plan in alignment with the Director's business plan through driving operational performance, achievement of business results, and continuous improvement Accountable for operational compliance to EHS, NERC, OHS, etc.

Experience:
Appropriate certification or education in a related discipline, and/or possess tangible and proven experience and skills Has Wind or other fuel Operations, Business, Financial and Commercial experience Comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within own discipline and knowledge of others Understanding of the operational aspects of the plant; technical, compliance, and financial Thorough understanding of the TransAlta operation model, plant risk and related mitigation strategies Good understanding of contractor requirements, procurement processes, and inventory management Managing and reporting of business and financial aspects including production, availability, revenue, operating and capital expenses Provide due diligence for growth opportunities and integration activities for new assets Thorough understanding of how related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve objectives Values the work, is passionate to succeed, is committed to deliver business results, and works with deliberate intent and urgency Self-motivated and works with minimal supervision while consistently taking initiative Must be consistently available as required unless accountability has been delegated and communicated to the Director Must be consistently available as required with estimated travel requirements of 40% OTHER REQUIREMENTS Successful completion of pre-employment testing is a condition of employment The position location is required to be at a Wind facility in the region (Wyoming or Oklahoma City / US Wind Sites) WHAT WE OFFER TransAlta is an equal-opportunity employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where you can be your true and authentic self.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
